Mimaki – Missing job details in Mimaki PICT
Problem/Question
Printed jobs with the Ergosoft RIP miss job details (e.g.,
media name) in Mimaki’s dashboard of the Cloud Technology PICT (https://mimaki.com/product/software/remote/pict/).
This may be because you are using a Print Environment that
has not yet enabled the additional print job information/commands required for
the Mimaki Cloud Technology PICT, or the Ergosoft RIP version does not support PICT
Cloud interfacing.
Solution/Workaround
Per default, the additional PICT print job commands are disabled to avoid incompatibility issues described in article
Mimaki – Parameter Error (PICT). To enable them for compatible Print Environments, follow the procedure below.
- Make
sure the last official and recommended version of the Ergosoft RIP is installed
(consult with your IT administrator)
- Make
sure the Mimaki Status Monitor (Port Settings) is enabled.
- Make
sure the printer is connected correctly.
- Open
Print Environment Settings (CTRL+ALT+P).
- Go
to the Device Options tab.
- Retrieve
the print modes from the printer.
- Retrieve
the dot volumes from the printer.
- Click
OK to close the Print Environment.
If the Ergosoft RIP version, the printer firmware version,
Windows Mimaki Driver version support the PICT commands, the Print Environment setup procedure described above will
result in them being enabled for future print jobs.
To find out which Ergosoft RIP version is required for PICT
and if your Mimaki printer model supports it, please refer to the Online Changelog in the User Portal.
