Ergosoft 16 Sequoia has some limitations that are important for installation and use.
Solution/Work-Around
Installation
- Master and all Sequoia workstations must use the same build version
- 64-bit and 32-bit installations in combination are possible
- Only the Sequoia dongle works (additional, local dongle leads to errors)
Network
- Computers must be located within the same work group or domain
- Shared Storage folder need read/write access
- Spool folder need read/write access
Setup
- Virtual Machines are not officially
supported
- VPN is not officially supported
- Print Environments works only localy created
Options
- User Level Management can only be
administrated on the master station
- Processing Policies
- Archiving is only executed on the master
- Archiving remote RIP data only from a located network share
- Archiving remote Images only from a located network share
Features
- Get Media Size from
Printer does only work on local machines
- Print and Measure only supported if the JobComposer used is
started on the same station as the PrintQueue/Rip required
- Linearization, ColorGPS
and Named Colors will be available only in the
same machine where the PrintEnvironment was created
For bigger production sites with a lot of active printers, we recommend
going for two Sequoia departments, meaning to have two Master stations,
divide the Clients into two departments and assign them to the Master
stations.
