Problem/Question
How to setup the Shared Storage?
The Shared Storage synchronizes settings across all Sequoia systems and allows for easy backups by using on centralized location.
The Shared Storage folder will hold all settings, image and user data, Presets, Print and Cut Environments to be shared between the different workstations.
Solution/Work-Around
- The Shared Storage (like the Master PC) must be available for all workstations in the network at any time
- It is ideally placed in a central network location like a NAS or Server
- As a local host ist is recommended to use the Master PC
- Note: Sharing a directory belonging to the user folder is not advisable due to access rights. Example C:\Users\JohnDoe\Documents\.... is to be avoided
- Map a Shared Network Folder as a Network Drive on every computer with read/write rights
- Note: If Shared Storage should be hosted on the Master PC, for visibility reasons, place the shared folder at C:\Users\Public\
- Turn on Public folder sharing
- Save the credentials
- Make sure that the selected directory is accessible from all other workstations which will be part of the Sequoia network
