JobComposer crashes after adding an HP DesignJet Z6 Print Environment

Problem/Question

After adding an HP DesignJet Z6 Print Environment, the JobComposer crashes repeatedly when trying to open it. Likewise it can come to an error message "Not enough memory". When sending a print job, the RipEngine crashes and the job is not rasterized.

Solution/Work-Around

To ensure that a print environment for an HP DesignJet Z6 printer works without problems, please proceed as follows:

  1. Add a new Print Environment
  2. Synchronize this print environment in the device options
  3. After successful synchronization, close the print environment.
  4. Then open the print environment again
  5. Select the desired medium in the device options*
  6. Confirm and save this print environment with OK
  7. Print out a job

* Make sure that the medium was created correctly on the printer and is still available!

 

Note: Do not use the old Print Environment! Delete this best immediately!
