How does the HP media profiling workflow work?

On the one hand, the HP print environments offer the option of synchronizing and setting the media profiles installed on the printer. However, if no suitable media is available from HP for the media used, you can create your own profile in the Ergosoft RIP.

Solution/Work-Around

To create a custom media profile for an HP printer, please follow these steps:

  1. Create substrate preset on the printer

Set resolution, passes, temperature, ink limit and set media name

 

  1. Create Print Environment in Ergosoft Rip for the HP printer

Run the synchronization in the device options

Select the media, print mode and raster resolution

 

  1. Perform the profiling

Proceed as usual with linearization, ink limitation, color GPS, …
