Problem/Question
HP provides a couple of ready-made color profiles embedded in the HP media presets. They can be applied to the Ergosoft Print Environment by pressing the "Retrieve ICC Profile" button in Device Options.
If no suitable ICC is available or the results are not sufficient, can I generate a new color calibration instead?
Solution/Work-Around
Yes. Even for most of the HP printers, the dithering (halftoning/rastering) is made outside of Ergosoft*, the regular color management process can be done.
(*This means, Ergosoft generates an RGB or CMYK contone image.)
To create a custom
color calibration follow these steps.
- Create media preset on the printer.
Set resolution, passes, temperature, ink limit and media name.
- Create a new Print Environment in Ergosoft Rip.
- Trigger the synchronization in Device Options.
- Select the media, print mode and raster resolution.
- Perform the usual color calibration process.
(Density Linearization > Total Ink Limit > ICC with ColorGPS)
