Problem/Question
When attempting to select an existing Cut Environment for a Summa Cutter or to start the CutQueue for a Summa, Ergosoft RIP displays an error message "Cut Driver not licensed" or "License count exceeded".
The most common source of this error is when attempting to start more instances of a CutQueue than are included in the active license. For example, a default Ergosoft Entry license comes with one Entry Cutter, so you would be able to start one CutQueue. Attempting to start a second CutQueue while the first is already running will cause the "License count exceeded" Error.
Another possible cause of this error is when the Summa Cut Environment was imported from a previous version. In recent versions of Ergosoft, the Summa Cut Environments where replaced by new, specific Cut Environments for DRAG-, TANGENTIAL- and DUAL-HEAD. The older Summa Cut Environments are no longer in the licensing and therefore accessing them or trying to start their CutQueue will cause the errors to appear.
Solution/Work-Around
If the error occurs because the actual number of available licenses for the CutQueue is exceeded, the solution is simply to close the currently open CutQueue and then open the other one you want.
If the Cut Environment has been imported into the Ergosoft RIP Installation (Or settings and Cut Environments where automatically taken over from an older installation through the Migration Wizard), it is most likely the old version of the driver. In this case the solution is simply to create a new Summa Cut Environment with the correct variant (DRAG-, TANGENTIAL- or DUAL-HEAD) and use that instead.
