Problem/Question
Due to e.g. Windows
updates and/or other system errors, problems may occur in the RIP.
These can
manifest themselves as e.g. JobComposer crash, defective Print Environment
etc..
To solve the problem
it is recommended to change the user data folder.
To change the user
data folder proceed as follows:
- Start the maintenance tool
- Click on "Set user data
path"
- Confirm the message
- Click on the folder icon
behind the current path
- Create a new user data folder
in the EsRip folder
- Select it
- Click on Ok
- Restart the RIP
If you want to
transfer the Print Environment directly from the existing User Data Folder, for
example, this can only be done by reinstalling RIP. Proceed as follows:
- Download the current
Ergosoft version from your User Portal and start the installation routine
- Create a new user
data folder in the EsRip folder
- Select it
- Set the slider for
the migration options to On
- Select all the
options you need *)
- Click Ok
- Complete the
installation
- Then restart the RIP
*) Note: if you do not select anything, the RIP will start completely
empty. All settings have to be done manually. This can be helpful if the RIP no
longer works as desired. Print environments, settings and presets can then be
gradually imported from the old user data folder.
If no data is
migrated:
- Take notes or screenshots of
the Application Default settings
- Export the Print and Cut
Environments
- Export your own Presets
