Deterioration in print quality after an ink changeover
Problem/Question
A deterioration in print quality is detected after an ink changeover. How can the print quality be restored?
Solution/Work-Around
- Copy the PrintEnvironment used before the ink changeover and name it differently.
- Remove the embedded Density Linearization and Color Profile.
- Carry out a new Density Linearization in the same way as before the ink changeover.
(same geometry, same measurement device, same number of patches)
Important: In the last step, complete Linearization without limiting curves! - Open the ColorEqualizer tool.
- Select "Copy Target Density".
- On top, select the PrintEnvironment used before the ink changeover.
In the bottom field, select the new PrintEnvironment. - Click on the "Copy Target Density" button to create a new PrintEnvironment with the same name as defined in step 1.
(PE name will be supplemented by the suffix _equalized.) - Open the ColorEqualizer tool and select "Copy Printer Profile".
- On top, select the PrintEnvironment used before the ink changeover.
In the bottom field, select the new PrintEnvironment created in step 7. - Click on the "Copy Printer Profile" button to create a new PrintEnvironment with the same name as defined in step 1
(PE name will be supplemented by the suffix _equalized twice.)
- Do a test print by using the PrintEnvironment created in previous step.
The quality should now be adapted to the existing output (before the ink change).
