Deterioration in print quality after an ink changeover

Problem/Question

A deterioration in print quality is detected after an ink changeover. How can the print quality be restored?

 

Solution/Work-Around

  1. Open the Ergosoft ControlCenter
  2. Start the JobComposer
  3. Copy the PrintEnvironment used before an ink changeover and name it differently
  4. Remove the embedded Density Linearization and Color Profile from the PrintEnvironment created in previous step
  5. Carry out a new Density Linearization in the same way as before the ink changeover (same geometry, same measurement device, etc.)
    Important: In the last step, complete Linearization without limiting curves
  6. Open the ColorEqualizer tool
  7. Select "Copy Target Density" 
  8. On top, select the PrintEnvironment used before the ink changeover
    In the bottom field, select the PrintEnvironment created in step 1.
  9. Click on the "Copy Target Density" button to create a new PrintEnvironment with the same name as defined in step 1., supplemented by the suffix _equalized
  10. Open the ColorEqualizer tool and select "Copy Target Density" 
  11. On top, select the PrintEnvironment used before the ink changeover
    In the bottom field, select the PrintEnvironment created in step 7.
  12. Click on the "Copy Target Density" button to create a new PrintEnvironment with the same name as defined in step 1, two times supplemented by the suffix _equalized
  13. Do a test print by using the PrintEnvironment created in previous step, the print quality should have been improved
