Transfer data from ErgoSoft RIP 15 to Ergosoft 16

Transfer data from ErgoSoft RIP 15 to Ergosoft 16

Problem
How can data that were created in ErgoSoft RIP 15 (or previous versions) be adopted in Ergosoft 16?

Solution
Print and Cut Environments created in version 15 can be exported there and imported in version 16.
If it is a large number of environments, it is recommended to create a package (.PrEnvPck).

Jobs that were created and saved in version 15 can also be opened again in version 16.

Any input-profiles you have added can be copied individually from the Color folder.

Presets and Application Defaults have to be re-created.
The structure has changed significantly from version 15 to version 16. Applying the presets or application defaults directly would inevitably lead to problems.
Version 15 and version 16 can be opened at the same time. So, while working simultaneously in both versions, you can re-create one setting after the other in Version 16.

The folder Template and SwatchServ can be copied if necessary.

Caution!
Under no circumstances may the user data folders simply be copied into one another!

Procedure
  1. In version 15, export your print and cut environments that you want to use in version 16. *)
  2. Install the current release of Ergosoft 16 on your system. *)
  3. If you have created position templates in version 15 and would also like to use them in version 16, copy the Template folder from the user data folder of your version 15 into the new user data folder of version 16.
  4. The user data folder is located by default in C:\Users\Public\Documents\EsRip\...
  5. If you have created your own color tables in version 15 and also want to use them in version 16, copy the SwatchServ folder from the user data folder of your version 15 into the new user data folder of version 16.
  6. If you used your own input profiles in version 15 and would also like to use them in version 16, copy them from the Color folder in the user data folder of your version 15 to the Color folder of the new user data folder of version 16.
  7. Now start your new version 16 and import the print environments previously exported from V15. *)
  8. Also start version 15
  9. Start the Preset Editor in both applications via Tools -> Edit Presets at the menu
  10. Now you can readjust one preset after the other from version 15 to version 16.
  11. Start the Application Defaults in both applications and compare the settings with the previous version.
