Change embedded CMM files to external

Change embedded CMM files to external

Problem/Question
“How can I set embedded color management files like Density and ICC to external in my PrintEnvironment?"
Working with Ergosoft default workflow, density and output profile (ICC) are embedded automatically in the PrintEnvironment. For certain application the CMM files need to be set as external resources.

Solution/Work-Around
Changing from embedded to external CMM resources can be made very easily by simply export the density an profile and import the files to the same PE again.
  1. Back up the PrintEnvironmen you'd like to change
  2. Open the PrintEnvironment settings
  3. Navigate to Quality tab
  4. Export Density Linearization to default folder
  5. Export Printer Profile to default folder
  6. Apply the "external" checkbox in the Density section and pass the warning message with "Yes".
  7. Select the exported pdn file, klick "save" and confirm with "Yes".
  8. Repeat step 6 and 7 for Printer Profile (.icc)
  9. Close PrintEnvironment with "OK"
Note: Ergosoft embeds CMM data for good reasons. Changing it can lead to loss of data and reduce system stability. In every case back up your PrintEnvironments before changing.
