RIP Engines configuration

RIP Engines configuration

Problem/Question
No rip processes are performed. No RipEngine seems to be active.
How to change the number of active RipEngines?

At least one RipEngine is required to perform a rip process. Raster performance of the Ergosoft RipEngine mainly depends on the processor.
It is possible to configure the RipEngine so it uses multiple cores.

Solution/Work-Around
  1. Open the Ergosoft ControlCenter
  2. Select the tab "RIP & Programs"
  3. Control how many RipEngines started in the "RipEngines to be managed" field
In addition you can change
  1. the number of automatically started RipEngines
  2. the number of threads to be used per RipEngine
You can also see the maximum count of available RipEngines.

In Ergosoft 16 Sequoia there are additional things to consider:
  1. The number of RipEngines can be distributed to the output workstations according to your requirements
  2. The total number of RipEngines to be distributed depends on your license
  3. The standard quantity for Sequoia are sixteen (16)
  4. The default setting for the number of RipEngines on each Sequoia workstation is 0
