TCP/IP Connections

TCP/IP Connections

Problem/Question
When using a TCP/IP Ethernet connection to printers, there are some certain requirements recommended to ensure a proper connection.

Solution/Work-Around
Make sure the following conditions are met:
  1. 1000 Base-T compatibility of both the PCs network card and the Ethernet Hub/router
  2. ACAT6 LAN Cable is recommended. Lower LAN cable standards can potentially lead to unstable connections.
  3. Connections should be within the same segment using the same router and/or gateway.
  4. Wi-Fi, PLC or VPN connections as well as simultaneous use with USB are not supported.
Some printer manufacturers (such as Mimaki or HP) use their own special TCP/IP connections. Your dealer or the printer manufacturer can provide you with information.
