Error 7, CmStick awaits the restarting of the Encryption Communication Mode

Problem/Question
Ergosoft displays the following error message during startup or when the software is already running:
"CmStick awaits the restarting of the Encryption Communication Mode Error 7"

This Error is very rare, but is usually related to older Firmware versions of the Codemeter Dongle.

Solution/Work-Around
The error can be easily fixed by updating the firmware of the dongle (see the link under "Useful Articles")

The error can also be caused by fluctuations in the power supply of the USB port. In such cases it can help to plug the dongle into an external USB hub with its own power supply, as this ensures a constant current flow.
