Error 0x18088006 Internal error during license transfer

When trying to activate the license ticket online you receive an error message:
"Error 0x18088006 Internal error during license transfer. Please contact the support service."
This error message indicates that there is a communication problem between the license management server (CodeMeter License Central WebDepot) and the dongle.
